Never skated before? No problem! We’ll teach you how to skate, stop, and safely fall. This event is perfect for beginners, intermediate skaters, and those looking to jump start their roller derby journey!
No Gear Necessary
Don’t own skates? Don’t have pads or a helmet? That’s okay! We will fit you for skates and gear! Feel free to bring your own if you have it.

DAY ONE
Friday, October 17

Get fitted for gear and learn the basics of roller skating! We’ll teach you how to stop and fall safely! You can look forward to Halloween goodies and prizes to get you in the spooky mood!

DAY TWO
Monday, October 20
Time: 5:30-8 PM
Location: The Arena at Alliant Energy Center
It’s almost Halloween – join us in costume! On this day, we will start working on more specialized skills that build on what you learned in day one. There will also be more one-on-one coaching!
If you choose to come in costume, please pick an outfit that you can freely move in. You’ll need to put on a helmet, knee/elbow pads and skates in order to participate

Saturday, October 18

Another local league, Madison Roller Derby, begins their home season! We invite you to join Wisconsin United as we support local roller derby.
Kick off your skates and slip on your comfy shoes; the team will be sitting as a group and the experienced skaters will be explaining the rules of the game.

What should I bring with me?
Come to the boot camp wearing comfortable clothes and bring a water bottle – get ready to move!
We provide loaner gear if you do not have your own. A helmet, knee & elbow pads, wrist guards, and quad skates are all provided and needed to play roller derby. We will make sure you are fitted for gear correctly!
